Countdown to Christmas 25 Festive Recipes

In the coming week’s I’ll post my favorite holiday recipes.  Some are new.  The rest are the recipes I return to year after year.  I hope you love them as much as I do!

Here Comes Santa Claus

December 1:  Limoncello.  If you start now, your limoncello will be ready in time for Christmas gifting.

December 2: Gravlax with Mustard Cream Cheese.  Great for a holiday potluck.  Start on Monday to have gravlax on the weekend.

December 3: Smokey Pork Rub.  This spice rub is an easy and yummy homemade gift.

December 4: Eggnog Ice Cream.  It’s homemade ice cream, do I need to say more?

December 5: Spiked Cider Sauce.  A nice compliment to eggnog ice cream.

December 6: Lemon Martini.  Admit it, you need one to make it through the holidays.

December 7: Smoked Duck.  We don’t bother with turkey anymore.  Duck is the holiday bird for us.

December 8: Pepper Jelly.  I’ve been giving this away as a gift for years.  It’s a family favorite.

December 9: Smoked Duck Liver with Onion Jam.  If you’re going to smoke a duck then you need to try this recipe.

December 10: Candied Orange Peel.  A single batch can garnish your desserts all season long.

December 11: Winter Salad.  Simple and Healthy.

December 12: Meatballs in Tomato Sauce.  A classic for the holiday buffet.

December 13: Peppermint Hot Chocolate Ice Cream.  Chocolate.  Peppermint.  Marshmallows.  Need I say more?

December 14: Triple Ginger Snaps.  A new addition to my cookie tray.  Yummy.

December 15: Crunchy Oatmeal Chip Cookies with Dried Fruit and Nuts.  My favorite cookie this year.

December 16: Scotch Chocolate Krinkles.  An old favorite updated with Scotch.  Chocolaty and boozy.

…exhausted from too much shopping…

December 24: Real Scotch Butterscotch.  Awesome sauce for ice cream or other desserts.  And makes a great last minute gift.

December 25: Poached Egg with Truffle Toast.  Amazing breakfast food for Christmas morning.
